I just thought I’d share the life of an everyday web addict. I’m certainly no gadget-nerd or pc gamer. just your everyday girl looking to be kept entertained by and connected to the world at large. Here’s where I start:

iGoogle
For the Google product users, IG is fantasmically awesome! I have different tabs built based on where and what I’m working on at the moment. I have my Home, which previews my Gmail, tracks my family calendar and fetches my horoscope among many other tisky tasks. I have the Work tab, which I “dumbed down” the theme of to look more like a standard google search page to deflect those nosy cubicle neighbors. On this page I stream the latest technology news for my industry, along with O/S tips and network tools making an extremely functional work kit. I have other tabs built, such as entertainment news, games, and “feed me” (a collection of news and blog feeds for all tastes) but these are my two favorites at the moment. Either way, it’s the only homepage I’ve found to FULLY encompass everything I do.

Myspace
Yes, I know it’s a guilty indulgence, but every once in a while I actually WANT to read a useless survey, or browse through bands I’ve never heard of. It’s been a tremendous resource for my work over at DrunkenHillbilly and the soon-to-come UndergroundCountryMusic sites. Besides, the friend-stalking options are limitless!

LiveJournal
Whether it’s the t-shirt reconstruction group, the blogs about alternative lifestyles, or simply a good friend’s emotionally typed outburst, LJ is a place I spend probably the most time both reading a writing. In a world where it seems everyone is just waiting for their chance to talk, it’s nice to have a forum where I’m not waiting for anyone.

Digg
If you can see past all the SEO Engineers’ Digg wars, then you can find some really great strange and unusual articles, as well as a lot of techy geeky news along with commentary from other like-minded bit-byters.

PirateBay
Use Pirate Bay along with the uTorrent application and your media folders will never go hungry again! ‘Nuff said!
