It’s that time of year… the time I start watching the mail like a hawk. My ears perk up at work at the mere whisper of “W-2” trying desperately to find out when ours are being sent out. You see, I am one of the brighter crayons. I claim fewer exemptions all year long so that I actually GET A REFUND! Real novel idea isn’t it? I don’t dread tax-time… I look forward to it more than Christmas! Would you even believe that I log on to TurboTax at the end of December, fill out all my information with an estimate of my final income figures just to see what my anticipated return looks like? Then it’s a slow sweet torture till those W-2’s come in and I can officially EFile. I take advantage of the easy web-based application at TurboTax, answer all my questions, enter all my figures, and read all the tax tips. I make sure I’m getting the most out of every exemption, deduction and random tax break that I can. Then I use the easy direct deposit options and kazaaam! Refund by valentine’s day! Yay me!
